Design is the means that transforms beautiful eyewear into comfortable eyewear.And vice versa.
My name is Laura Rattaro and I am an eyewear designer. I work alongside eyewear companies to create their collections.
Each project is the result of everything I have learnt in my 30-year career.
My task is not only to design, but above all to portray the brand through forms and colours, seamlessly in line with entrepreneurial visions.
The goal? To be a point of reference as a designer and consultant for entrepreneurs who want to design beautiful glasses and increase their sales.
The quest for synthesis and balance
Eyewear is an object that combines aesthetics, functionality and well-being.
Understanding how the frame interacts with the lenses is the first thing to consider when designing eyewear, because people need to be guaranteed visual ease and comfort.
Consequently, the eyewear designer is an indispensable figure in creating a design that works: they must always take the commercial objectives of the company and the optician into account, but also the complex needs of the end customer.
My work must therefore combine a variety of disciplines: I use a technical, physiological and aesthetic approach to create eyewear which, once worn, conveys style and allows the wearer to see well.
Between two souls
I have been designing for eyewear companies for over 30 years, constantly shifting between the boundaries of my two souls, one being creative and the other technical. I am always looking for new inspirations.
